The fair was a lot of fun but so much walking. My legs and feet were killing me and I had a pain in my lower back. I had to sit down often to rest, Jeff was like the energizer bunny, he just kept going and going. We did everything except some of more scary rides in the carnival. I loved the concession buildings where they sold everything including things I never saw before. They had charcoal broiled corn on the cob. I loved it, It was so good I went back and got a second ear. Between that and the kettle corn which I couldn’t stop eating, I had to do many bolus insulin injections. Easy do do with the pump but I still had to test often. Jeff was worried because I was testing so much but I explained it was to keep from getting out of control. The dinner was a waste of money for me, I was so full from eating corn on the cob, kettle corn and other goodies I could hardly eat a bite of my dinner. The Kenny Loggins show was ok but I won’t be buying any of his CD’s.
The high point of my day was on the way home, he took me to Windansea Beach. I had never been there before. It was fantastic, the waves were breaking over the rocks almost like Sharks Cove at home. I lay in the sand and got all dirty but I could have stayed there all night and listened to the waves, surf and smell the sea air. Then the low point of my day started, Jeff started coming on to me. I didn’t mind kissing and making out a little but I couldn’t do what he wanted, especially not there on the beach. There were people there not far from us. I lied and said I was feeling bad then checked my pump PDM. I said it was bad and needed to go home. He drove me home and parked in front of my aunts house. We kissed goodnight and he started to make out again but I resisted and said goodnight.
When I lay down on my bed I realized just how much I had over done it. I must really be out of shape, my leg muscles are aching, when I straighten my legs on the bed it feels like they’re going to cramp. My feet feel even worse after I took my shoes off. I’m wondering if I have neuropathy in my toes they hurt so bad and the bottom of my feet is burning. I’m ready for a hot shower and bed but I need to stay up for another hour to check the results of bolus insulin I had to take to lower my BG.
I think I missed the fair, hubby wants to take me to San Diego fair. I haven’t been to beach yet, water makes me nervous (friend drowned), and I’m swimsuit wearing type. Maybe one day I’ll takecadvantage of what Cali offers, right now I’m a hermit.
You can tell I was a teen in the 80’s huh? Loved some of his stuff! Sounds like you more or less had a blast at the fair! Like Domo I haven’t been to the beach yet. Well when you live in Tn there’s no ocean around you. But I bet it was pretty there.
My taste in music is rather strange. My favorite music is traditional Japanese music called Enka. I also like some classical music, especially things by Sarah Brightman. The teen music of today leaves me cold, except for dancing, it seems more like noise than music to me. Hawaiian music is ok but only if performed live.
I find my legs and feet are suseptable to cramping if I’ve taken a lot more insulin than usual even if my BG’s were OK. I even went so far as to use the cream with the capsaisan on my feet thinking it was neuropathy but it’s just my body reacting to the insulin. I totally love the fair, even the weird one up here that has only organic foods and does not allow caffeine products, and kissing at the fair is the best!
When I was at the fair I did do many bolus injections to control BG while eating corn on the cob, kettle corn and cinnamon buns. The kettle corn was quite sweet, and required large bolus injections. This was a lot more insulin than I take in a normal day. Do u really think this could have caused my leg cramps?
My doctor sent a Rx for Soma, a muscle relaxer. I’m not to use unless necessary.
I have found that effect but it could be the glucose content of what you needed the insulin for and not the insulin that caused the cramping. Cinnamon buns - up here its fried dough - with powdered sugar on top. I know, I know!
Try drinking more fluids and try the pills - your legs ache and you need sleep.
I took a Soma with a half liter of water before bed last night. I’ll never do that again, the soma had me sleeping like a baby but all that water almost made me pee the bed. I had to get up twice for the bathroom.
I feel so good and rested I walked around the block 2 times may go to the mall with cousins later. I need a lot of things.
Ok, not lol but falling out of chair laughing. I guess you need to cut the 1/2 litre water intake a few hours before bedtime - I was thinking you’d be drinking 8 oz or so when I made the comment. Have fun at the mall.
He told me to take the soma with a full glass of water. I just over did it a little. He also told me that soma can be habit forming so I’m not going to take any more unless I start getting cramps again.
Not much fun at the mall, when my cousins found out I’m almost broke, they wanted to come home. They are always mooching off me. At least, they were someone to talk to. I get so lonely living here some days I don’t talk to anyone except at dinner. That’s why I go on dates whenever I get a chance.
