I been having hard time dealing with Liberty Medical during this year. Each month I need to call them at least once, in the last couple month it went really crazy! In one week I called them for like 4 or 5 times. All I need is just my pump supplies.
Each time they say we need to wait for your insurance. Which was NOT true since I know that my insurance approve it without the need to contact them. Even a supervisor confirmed that I don’t need to wait for my insurance, they can ship it right away.
SO, am shopping for another diabetic supplier, any suggestions? What do you like about your supplier? Is there one that you can do all the process electronically without the pain of waiting on the phone?
I would recommend going with a different supplier. For about 2 years I dealt with Liberty and they were NOT fun to work with… I get everything from Walgreens except for my pump supplies (which I get from the pump company -Medtronic- directly). So far it’s been acceptable: at least I would say EXCELLENT compared to the experience with Liberty.
Thanks for the fast reply, probably a new record 3 minute from starting the discussion. Amazing
Unfortunately, my pump is the OLD who will be missed “Deltec Cozmo”. However I will contact them and see what they can offer. And am sure any company will be WAY BETTER than Liberty.
I have to go with Manny here. I use the Medtronics company and had to deal eith Liberty at one time too. I didn’t like how long it took to get all the information and insurance, etc!
I previously used the CozMo, and I used the Diabetes Supply Center of the Midlands, Omaha NE when Smiths Medical stopped their supply business. I was very happy with them and they worked well with my insurance. Then I switched to the OmniPod and now I no longer use them. But they were good to me.
I too am fed up with Liberty and need to find another supplier for pump supplies. I still have a Deltec Cozmo with Cleo90’s.
Any more suggestions for honest suppliers?
I switched to DIABETES SUPPLY CENTER OF THE MIDLANDS located in Omaha, NE. Assigned an agent that deal with my supplies, which I can contact her directly. Since I live in Iowa, I felt more comfortable dealing with DSCM ( close, same time zone…etc!)
I use Liberty for my pump supplies (insurance required ) and they bug me no end wanting to send out supplies before I need them. I can’t imagine Liberty withholding supplies unless they really do not have your insurance paperwork. They do have to get in writing the insurance clearance, I would think. But I would be bugging my insurance company to get it to the right office if that is the problem. Let them know the problem you are having. All I had to do was give them my insurance information, number etc. Of course, my federal insurance has a contract with Liberty and all they have to do is check that my “R” number is legit. I assume your insurance co also has a contract. As I said, I would bug them!
Why do you need to waste your time and BUG them to send you the supplies! I got sick of calling every month and bugging!!??!
Now, nothing need to be done, I receive my supplies on front door. If I need anything I can e-mail my agent or call her. Not waiting on the Liberty call center and be picked by a beginner then be transferred to a supervisor…etc
Thanks Ahmad,
I just got off the phone with Diabetes Supply Center, quickly got someone who knew what they were talking about and they immediately e-mailed me the paper work for insurance, thanks for the recommendation, so far so good
Awesome news! I know dealing with the pump supplies can be tedious at times. I deal with Medtronic, and they always get it worked out for me, but ive had some hair raising moments none the less.
