Lady Gaga and Us and Free Association

This is Also about Diabetes. Sexual abuse really doesn’t know any boundaries. Ever think about how a survivor of rape (male or female) or “just” domestic violence manages to cope with remembering to bolus–or even eat?..

The strange free-association moment—as the beautiful survivors gathered behind Lady Gaga, baring their forearms which showed a phrase defining their personal experience—I couldn’t help but picture our beloved Word in Hand ongoing thread…

Also–If you haven’t viewed Lady Gaga’s actual released video with this song, it is very moving. Devastating in some graphic, but still tolerable, imagery, and comforting (for us elder survivors) of how the tipping point in recovery is the Comfort of Friends…Worth finding. I’m not good with getting links to work, but if you are interested, I’m sure you can find it on utube…Blessings…

I think the phrase “Til it happens to you” applies to most life situations. Having a baby, losing a job, a loved one or a home, getting diagnosed with some sort of condition or disease (cancer, diabetes, depression, etc.) or, as sung by lady gaga, sexual abuse. We all dont know how that person feels until we have walked in their shoes. the only thing we can do is support and encourage.
The difference is that some stuff happens to most or many people, so more understand. other things maybe only one or two persons in the world have to deal with, and that is a lot tougher, as almost nobody understands.
I am glad i have TuDiabetes, where so many understand my problems
