Meal Memory app

That’s a Starbucks sausage sandwich with egg and cheese. I only eat one half of 1 muffin. I count 12 grams of carbs.

Meal Memory is an app that uses the iPhone to take a picture of your plate and then uses the Dexcom Share and my CGM to extract a mealtime then a mealtime + 2 hours blood glucose pair.

The picture combined with the before and after BGs as well as the CGM trace packs a visual punch. You may add notes and it does ask for your carb count but it asks very little manual input.

This will allow looking back at previous meals to help in gauging success. It should have insulin dosing on the screen but this is just version 1.0 so it will get better. I’m going to continue logging and if I can continue it will mean that the small burden will produce worthwhile feedback.

If you don’t have the paired CGM, the app allows you to input fingerstick numbers and it prompts you at the +2 hour mark.

Here’s a second meal but with better results. When you’re in good BG range the color of BG circle is black. Double-black is what you’re shooting for.

One of my favorite meals for both taste and post-meal BGs: bacon, eggs, and tomatoes with mango-peach salsa. The grey stripe in the graph ranges from 65-120 mg/dl.

While I’ve had great lines eating this meal, it helped that I went for a 40-minute walk after eating.

I dosed 1.7 units of insulin to cover the carbs and 3.7 units extended over 3 hours for the fat and protein.

Anyone know if this app is still available? I haven’t been able to find it

It’s still installed and working on my iPhone, but you’re right, I don’t see it on the Apple App store. I’m thinking it’s likely that other apps can provide the same utility.

Never heard of this app, but love the idea! Could anyone recommend a similar alternative (for Androids ideally)?
