I would like to inform all of you who are on medicare and can not get your cgm and sensors covered by medicare,that there is a BILL IN CONGRESS which was introduced to the ENERGY AND COMMERCE COMMITTEE on December 11,2013. I wrote asking for support from Representative Susan Brooks (IN 5). I doubt however it will do much good. I notice the bill is sponsored by a Democrat meaning almost certain death in the house. I suggest we ask Republican Legislators to offer their co-sponsorship of the bill. If we can get enough Republican cosponsors it might have a chance in the house, otherwise, this will be a hallow gesture. When writing please ask republicans to step across the isle and cosponsor the bill because this is bigger than politics. This is a mater of life and death for many us on medicare who rely on these devices to treat unrecognized lows.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I would not have known about it and I would never have written representative Brooks to ask that she be a statesman and let politics go by the way side, even if only this one time.
I suggest you might want to make this a discussion topic so each time someone comments it will reenter the list of those items being discussed. By their very nature blogs tend to run and die rather quick deaths. This is worth getting wider exposure than a blog will offer.
