I have gotten the mio’s 18in 6mm in pink and it didn’t hurt at all and I loved the quick set except I kept breaking the inserter so I switched to the siloeettes and now the mio is great for me!! and the pimk matches my pump!!!
Yesterday afternoon I ordered two boxes of the 18 inch pink 6mm Mio…yay…cannot wait to get them… these will match my pump and perhaps I can now use them in places that 9mm Quick sets were uncomfortable in…like my tricep area…we shall see!!!
Have been using these for a couple of weeks now… pros: cute color and better in areas like tricep and bicep… cons: 18 inches is too short…hard time finding a place for my pump close to infusion site… need longer tubing…but love the better BG I am getting in less fatty areas… yay!
Sorry to hear that one Amy, my Rep was really nice about the problem and since it’s going to take awhile to get samples to send out to us, ask her if she could send you a full box, yes I got an entire box of the MIO for nothing and my Rep from MedTronic took care of me! Couldn’t believe it!
Do you have to use the insertor with these? I currently use the silhoutte but insert manually as I cant stand the auto insertors.
i guess you could insert them without cocking the inserter, but you will be dealing with a large inserter - the sites come pre-loaded on the disposable insertion device. to get a better idea, take a look at this video - the inset is virtually identical to the mio. (for the record, i haven’t listened to the audio on this video) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cqj7sj6-Ino
Yeah. I am going to a conference in Miami in July so I am going to ask for a box of Mio’s so I don’t have to pack the inserter.
I would think it would be helpful too when you are away from home and have this as a backup set for site changes in an “emergency”, faulty site, site fell out etc, without having to carry around your serter for the quickset.
Hi Jennifer! Hey MedTronic sent me the Clear MIO Infussion Set, and it’s 36 inches long. Works pretty good too, I used one this morning after I got out of the shower. I’m going to change with Liberty Medical my Infussion Set to the MIO in about 6 weeks when it’s time to re-order my insulin pump supplies. The cool part I love about the MIO is it’s all one unit packed together, open it up, clean your infussion site, prepare the MIO, and snap away, your done, now just trash what don’t need and your good to go!
My Name is Wilford Brimley, and i have diabeetus. Liberty Medical delivers high-quality testing supplies right to my door…
I almost spit out my cereal laughing at this post.
Got a sample from my pump rep - 6mm. N oticed on the Medtronic page that there are only 6 mm sets with them - I though a few weeks ago I noticed that the Medtronic page had 9mm sets as well (clear only). Anyone know what happened to the 9 mm set they had on their products page? The sample is 6 mm and I am afraid it won’t be deep enough (I am not skinny) unless I use it as an arm site or thigh site.
The site page shows a 9mm with 32 in tubing in clear it is the very last one.
I didn’t see that. Thanks! I may have needed to go to the last page or something.
no problem I love them I use the 6mm in pink it works great in cannula size for back of my arms and my flank and thigh I don’t use my belly anymore as I save that for my sensors. hey and it is cute and matches my pump
They must be out of stock - went today to look again at the site - and there are only 6mm sets listed today. Weird. I will eventually try the 6mm cannulas - just have to go to a different site other than belly I guess. Looks so easy to have all in one.
Ohh what I would do is call minimed and ask them to send you out a sample I love the all in one of it I mean 1 little unit goes with me instead of a bunch of different things
I hear you - it would be nice to have spare set ups around the car, work, etc in case a set falls out -I hate to admit it, but I am afraid to do a manual insertion of the quick - set - guess I am too new at this. Haha
i’m the opposite, abdomen for sites and back of arms for sensors.
Nicee!! oh my qoodnes i hella want this !!! how much is it? and how do i qet it? do i have to ask my doctor or somethinq?
