Here I sit, impatiently waiting for FedEx to drop off my brand new Dexcom (in pink!). I haven't used Dexcom for over a year, because my job's old insurance didn't cover CGMs (really, Kaiser??). Jump forward a year or so later...same job, new insurance! Insurance that covers a CGM 100%! What the what?? Are y'all for reals here? I didn't even know that could happen?!? But, I will question nothing! (Sidebar: There's a yearly monetary limit on DME expenses, of course, that I'm sure I'll hit quickly - hey, you can't ask for everything...still!).
I absolutely can't what to get started on a CGM again. It helped me out immensely before and I know it will again. Not that I want to be woken up in the middle of the night by a low, but I WANT to be woken up in the middle of the night if I'm low!
So the next step will be naming my new Dexcom, not sure if I should wait until I meet it or have it all planned out, given that I'll have it in a few hours or so the issue is probably moot.
My last Dexcom was named Dakota, not necessarily imaginative, but - hey. My ping meter is named Ted, yes after the movie, because I yell at it...a lot, so it needed to be able to handle my emotional diabetic backlash (I can curse like a sailor, or so my mother says). My animas pump is, Barbie, because she's pink like every Barbie accessorie I ever had!
I do know one thing, whatever name I chose for my Dexcom, it will not start with a D! ;)
