So I haven’t seen Wilford Brimley for a while… but now, as I was watching Sy Fy, Alan Thicke came on a commercial saying he’s the father of a Type 1 Diabetic… and pushing some Diabetic health insurance, and guaranteeing test strips etched with gold are the best technology there is for accuracy… Interesting turnaround.
Yep I found out about that years back when hehad a TV series, Now what was it called??? Can’t remember! And I said I would never forget the name of that show…Now that;s going to bother me til someone here answeres that question.
Growing Pains?
YUP.

My old meter used test strips at had “gold” on them. No wonder they were so expensive. But now I wonder is my new one not as accurate - tough, it is more affordable I can’t afford Gold strips!
I’ve seen that commercial too. It’s good they now have commercials but…it’s just become too COMMERCIAL. I guess I’ve lived too long and seen too many changes which is good…I’m not knocking it but it’s become too commercial. I know it’s better then years ago…I remember when there were no diet sodas I also remember the first diet soda was TAB. I guess I should be glad that things are more accessible then those many years ago…
I agree! way too commercial.
THANK YOU GUYS!!!
Come on now guys! This is obviously the Gucci of test strips! Imagine, being able to show off your GOLD test strips that match your Prada purse, complement your Paris Hilton perfume and if they get stuck to your Manolo Blahnik shoes they will only increase the value!!! Not that there is anything wrong with owning any or all of those items. I’d like to, except maybe the perfume.
hahahaha … yeah, there ya go!
Next will be platinum! Gold–ho-hum.
Hoping ole Wilford is gone from the diabetes hawking scene.
TAB Now your bring back really bad memories!
LOL I know
It was either that or Diet Rite Cola! Yuck!!! Thank God for Diet Coke now!!!
Tab–ugh. Almost forgot about that stuff.
Hey Gerri who of use from way back when haven’t tried?
Remember squeezing lemon to make it taste better. Didn’t help!
I agree!
Silver goes better with my skin tone.
Ha! I remember TAB - I thought it wasn’t too bad tasting actually but than I was a kid than and could drink the non-diet sugary stuff. The local pizza place here still has RC Cola and the Diet Riet - it seems so retro!
Funny thing about the diet colas - I used to love regular Coke but hated regular Pepsi but hated Diet Coke and loved Diet Pepsi. Go figure.
