Hi all!

I am KSmi. I work in an events management firm. I just love organising various events and being in this industry is definitely one of the best things in my life. All the creative ideas really psyches me up. Also, I have a healthy and active lifestyle as you might surmise. I jog regularly and eat just about the right amount of food. However, the problem lies with sweets. Really can’t control myself when it comes to desserts.

Another info about me is that I come from a family of diabetics. Both sides have history with this disease. I even got myself health insurance as soon as I could get one. I am thinking I should at least prepare for hospital bills if ever I do get this condition.

I’m blabbering. Sorry about that. My question is how do you tell a family member to cut down on their sugar intake? My niece came up to me one day. Apparently, she noticed that her dad is being stubborn. We tried talking to my brother, but to no avail.

Thanks a bunch!

Well, frankly, I wouldn’t. Diabetics hate ‘food police’ and I wouldn’t do it to someone else.

Also, if he’s type 1 or 2 has to be considered. Is he supposed to be controlling with diet, or is he covering that sugar with insulin? These two different things make a difference in how someone MIGHT approach the subject.
