Not getting trend arrows

I just got my new Dexcom 7 started and am not getting any trending arrows…was wondering why I am not getting this info and how I could fix this.

It can take awhile to figure out what the trend is, especially when you first start it up. Hopefully by now you’re seeing an arrow.

If you still don’t see even a straight arrow within a few hours, something is wrong and I’d call dexcom.

I know when I first got my Dexcom, this happened to me, and I was really, really worried. After a few hours, the trend lines appeared, but they disappeared pretty quickly, and I was sure I had a defective Dexcom. Eventually, though, I learned that 1) When you first start a sensor, your trend lines usually don’t appear, though the length of time varies, and 2) sometimes trend lines disappear, usually when you’re going up or down pretty quickly or it feels you’re being inconsistent.

So, basically, I wouldn’t worry. They should appear after awhile.

I posted a forum thread about this when I first got the Dex, in a total panic because my trend arrows would disappear and reappear at random. It’s totally normal; sometimes I go for a couple of hours without one, especially near the beginning or end of a sensor’s life. Over time you’ll find that it’s nothing to worry about, as Anna said. :slight_smile:
