Hi All: I’m wondering if there are any good web sites or whatever for Omnipod 5 tips. I am super sensitive to even one dose and I’m trying to sort out which settings or factors to mess with.
Guess all the Omnipod 5 users are busy partying hard. Hopefully you’ll get some responses by Tuesday-ish when they recover.
In the meantime, I found Insulet wrote a pretty good explainer for docs back when the Omnipod5 was first released. Dunno if anything has changed since then. I like that it defines which settings don’t affect the algorithm.
Interesting. Thanks for posting!
I have used the OM5 since it first came out, and I still am making changes. Like you, I am sensitive to insulin, so what may be a “standard” procedure for many T1s just does not work for people like us. Everyone is SO unique that my best tip is that you work very closely with your Endo office to fine-tune the pump for you. Things to consider are the type of insulin you use, the insulin/carb ratio, how and when to use the Activity mode, and the settings of your Correction Factors.
I thought the article was good and did offer some new things to try for specific problems.
Good luck and continued success with the OmniPod 5.
We changed carb ratio targets and duration time. So now I’m trying to figure out if that worked. We shall see I guess!
Take a close look at Correction Factor also. OM5 gives you lots of options to change that factor throughout the day. I also am going to ask if Novolog is the best insulin choice for me. It does not seem to peak when I need it to do so. I hope the changes you made will work for you.
Thanks for this. As a boomer, I’m frustrated that the Omnipod user guide no index and the website has no Search function. Hello?
The Omnipod itself is quite good.
Boy that’s the truth!
