Omnipod PDM Meter - will the meter still work if there are pod issues?

Does the Omnipod PDM Meter still work if there are pod issues? Do podders carry a backup meter?

If for any reason, you have to remove the pod and go with a manual insulin injection, can you at least still use the PDM meter to obtain BG information?

Good news, the pdm will still work as a meter in event of a pod malfunction.

I will be going on the pod shortly (as soon as the pods and starter kit arrives and meeting with trainer). Is there a good place to learn and read about starting experiences?
