Any moms or moms to be with an omnipod? I usually use my arms or lower back to place my pod but now that I am pregnant my lower back is uncomfortable when I put the pod there. I can continue to use my arms but worry about wearing them out. Where else can I put it? I am overweight to begin with so the stomach was never comfortable. I am also concerned about when I get to the point where I should lay on my left side only because the pod is uncomfortable to lay on.
I'm not pregnant (yet!) but I usually wear my omnipod on the upper part of my leg, thigh region. No discomfort for me, but sometimes I catch my pants on it. Hope this helps!
I normally used my stomach but when i was pregnant last year I had to start using only the top of my arms as my lower back would catch on everything and was v uncomfortable when driving. The amount of people who asked if it was a stop smoking patch lol. I still cant use my stomach despite nearly using all my baby weight. I use just under my ribs instead
I wore the pod with my first pregnancy (he's now 15 months) and I'm currently 17 weeks with #2.
I usually wear my pods in 3 locations (6 total sites - one on the left and one on the right): buttocks (right about where the top of the pocket is on a normal pair of jeans), flank (a few inches above the waistline), and arms.
However, during my first pregnancy, I had trouble with the butt pocket area and I had to change a pod there early yesterday (only got 22 hours from it - boo). I put it on the other side and have been running a +20% basal all day and can not stay below 100 (usually 150+). I'm thinking it's time to give it up for the next 5 months or so :)
That means I'm down to 4 spots. I recently tried my back shoulder and had great results. If you take your right arm and cross it over to your left shoulder, I found a soft spot there and did the insertion. No issues and it was comfortable.
I've never had luck with the thighs (maybe because I did MDI there for so long?). I think it just goes to show how different we all are and how individual pod placement is for us all. Good luck!
I wore it during both of my pregnancies. The only place I felt I needed to avoid was my tight belly in the third trimester. In my second pregnancy (much bigger baby), I couldn't wear it on my back or buttocks either because my skin was so tight, so arms and thighs were my only options toward the end.
