Wow, what can I say that hasn’t been said before. I am just as content and happy here like I was sitting in front of everyone in “real” life. This is home for some Diabetics.
Thanks guys, but I haven’t done anything that you guys (and gals!) would do.
Alan, I think of you as one of the good guys and one of the people that I miss. I have a lot of respect for you. Maybe some of the stuff happened while you were off on one your trips. One post in particular that comes to mind was when a guy asked about life insurance on the T1 board and BSC was the first to respond. Matt was one of the people that chastised him in that thread for doing that. Another T2 woman (I can’t remember her name) works for the TSA and was the first to answer a flying question on the T1 board so she got yelled at. I am T1 but have never flown and I think she could have offered much better advice than I ever could.
Then there were the months of personal attacks on me that I was repeatedly made fun of for using a walker. I complained both on and off board and those messages remained up. You have a population that has a high rate of depression and people like me dealing with neuropathy and how it destroys ones body – no one should come to a diabetes board and repeatedly get made fun of for using a walker because they have neuropathy. I know that there are mean people everywhere but if that same person would post here what they did over there, those messages would get deleted and not remain up forever. I feel safe here. I did not feel safe over there.
