Out of Box Experience for Transitioning Customers (Ordered via Distribution)

FINALLY it arrived!!!

From UPS delivery to new pod on body was about 10 minutes. The setup is virtually identical to UST200.

Tried to synchronize with CoPilot software. Apparently it is not compatible as is... I'll need to investigate--I'm sure this will work eventually.

What came in the box:

  • UST400PDM
  • User Guide
  • 6' Micro USB Cable
  • OmniPod Quick Start Guide
  • Black Silicon Gel Cover
  • Black OmniPod Bag
  • FreeStyle Meter
  • 50 FreeStyle Meter Test Strips

Let us know when you find out about the co-pilot part. I use that a lot!

*jealous* :)

Interesting they still provide the extra meter. Have you had time to test the BG accuracy of the new PDM? Is it any different than the old one?

It took a software update. All working now...

Have not checked accuracy... but seems right vs. Dex 4.

The pods are the exciting part... the pdm is kind of a yawner.

Close... remember these devices are considered in specification @ +/- 20.

Thanks for the info John. The blue one was considered too low in most test. Sad to see the new black one here even lower. Oh well.

I too would have liked to see a better physical design. Compared to modern portable electronic devices, this thing's a big chunk.

Interested to see if your kit is the same thing they send to those of us that are "transitioning' instead of buying it out of pocket

One time, the Insulet rep's excuse for the transition was that 'no conversion kits are made" so we shall see. I suspect it will be the exact thing you got

There is MUCH less "wobble" in these new pods. Likely due to less surface area with a similar area affixed to the patch. Diggin it.

Interesting stuff, thanks John!

I called Insulet the other day and my next shipment of pods is due to go out June 20th. I was told it would be the new pods & pdm... can't wait!

Mine is supposed to ship tomorrow...Wonder how they are shipping it..UPS? Fed Ex? reg mail?

Still nervous that I only have 3 pods left...counting the one I change in a little bit... we shall see

I recommend subscribing to "MyUPS." It's free, and gives you a heads up when a delivery is coming your way. You'll get an email with details in advance of the shipment--often before the sender gives you a tracking number. If you want to pay, you can redirect packages, tighten delivery windows, and other stuff.

At any rate, if they send UPS, you'll know ASAP. As I recall, Insulet uses FedEx for all the replacement pods, so I suspect they will be consistent and use FedEx for the roll out to existing customers.

Yeah I couldn't remember who they use for replacements..since I dont LIVE where they send them...

Still curious to see the "transition kit" that Peter Devlin insisted didnt exist when this battle started on why they wouldn't send me one.

Bummer...Insulet is sending the PDM regular ground mail. I asked if I could pay to get it Fed Ex and they said no.

Guess it should still come this week...fingers crossed. I have 2 pods left so I hope neither one messes up!

So..just got a FEDEX confirmation that the PDM was sent out today. Guess not even the people working there know how they are going to be sent....not surprised but whatever...the fiasco is close to being over

It's nice to not have to hold the PDM right next to the pod to bolus.

I never really had issues with the distance..I guess im used to checking BG, and doing bolus all in one shot.

Sometimes when its cold, I had issues with communication..but then again im in TEXAS so cold isn't an issue..haha

Just a quick update...received the email with a link to the myomnipod training...and ...shocker...it doesn't work :) (not that I intended to do the online deal when the pdf is sufficient)

Just another fail by insulet....

Anyone else tried to go to the online training and was successful?

EDIT....they had my email detached from their system...whatever that means..so now the training works...gonna let it play while working..haha

LOL
