Pairing new G6 transmitter with tslim pump

I am relatively new to the dexcom G6/tslim x2 combination. In addition to the pump, I use the dexcom app on my phone.

The next sensor change is going to require a new transmitter as well, and I want to be sure that I do everything in the correct order. Do I pair the new transmitter with the pump first, the app first or does it not matter?

I have done it both ways. It pairs easiest with the Tandem pump, sometimes the phone and the app take a lot longer to lock onto the new transmitter.

I’ve had trouble using the phone to start a new transmitter.
Best way is to use your pump. The phone will pick up with no intervention.

Except to enter new transmitter id?

I use xDrip as app, and need to update it, then confirm it pairs.

When you have a dexcom, you don’t need to enter the code into your phone if you enter it in the pump and start it from there

You do need to enter the transmitter ID into the phone and pump whether you start the new transmitter on the phone or not. Tandem recommends starting a new transmitter or sensor on the pump first.
