I’ve set my PDM to alarm me to wake up twice this week (to check BG after a night bolus). The first time, I set the alarm for 1:00 am, and it woke me up at 3:00 am. The second time (last night), I set the alarm for 12:30 am. It woke me up at 5 am. Why is it doing this?!? My PDM has the correct time, it just chooses to ignore my request and pick a random time instead! Does anybody else’s PDM have this problem?
And, if there’s no way for me to fix this on my own… do you guys think that it’s worth me getting a replacement PDM? Because… this good technically be a REALLY important thing later. I may need to wake up at a certain time in fear of going low… and what happens if the alarm goes off several hours late… when it’s too late?
Oh heck yeah…now you don’t know what else it might be arbitrary about. You definitely need to have confidence with something that has control of your life–literally!! Call Insulet
Are you sure it didn’t go off at the scheduled time? I have mine set for 2am and 5am but if I sleep through it, which sometimes I do, it will continue to go off periodically. When I wake up in the morning I have to hit the ok button for both alarms before it will go away.
I also keep mine on military time (24 hour clock) so it doesn’t get confused with am/pm.
Sleeping through it will definitely come up when you call Insulet. Set it during the day and write down when it actually goes off. I never use the alarm, but am curious now.
I usually set the “test reminder” alarm. I’ve also had it wake me up because I had forgotten to test prior to going to sleep; and it was giving me that “Auto Off” alert. It woke me up fortunately. I believe that if I hadn’t responded…it would shut off the pod. Right??
