So Im desiging a new feature for the cozmo pump

this new feature will grab and shake and even punch you if you are sleeping and not getting any insulin, created just for those really heavy sleepers like myself.

my battery was almost dead so to avoid last months chaos (where the battery died around 2 am and it doesnt have an alarm because its in sleep mode from 11pm to 6am and I woke up soooo high it actually said “hi”…and here I thought my meter was being nice and saying “hi, good morning”…HA!) I change it before I go to bed thinking everything is great.

3am comes and Im woken up by my pump vibrating and going nuts on me, theres a blockage. so I wake my butt up and test… 260, ouch. I change the tubing and the problem is solved and I check the history on my pump…yeah this alarm was going off for almost 2 hours!

so yeah they need to like make a zapper or something so it wakes up heavy sleepers! LOL

Oh yes!

design one for Medtronic too. Wake my butt up when somethings wrong, I will sleep through it then wake up to these nasty numbers that don’t make for a good morning :frowning:

What you do is buy a taser, see? Then you open up the back the take the red wire . . .

Or you could get some sort of motion/sound activated sensor that would “detect” pump alarm, then it would sound off with a bullhorn-type alarm to wake you, your family, your neighbors, etc. up.

Personally, I wish my CozMo would have an alarm shutoff for the sleeping hours. I have the 2-hr post bolus alarm turned on, to remind me to test post-meals. Only problem is when I take a correction bolus before bedtime. Next thing I know, 2 hours later, I waking up in pain wondering why my shins/gut/shoulder hurts. Then I realized my wife is kneeing/elbowing/punching me telling me to turn off my pump alarm…

my hubby is pretty tuned into my pump alarms…he’s always poking or prodding me in the middle of the night telling me to check my pump…sometimes there isn’t even an alarm or anything so I think he just dreamed it…lol but he won’t let me sleep through anything…it’s kind of annoying sometimes :stuck_out_tongue: haha

Well, the Minimed CGMS will make the pump alarm REAL loud and start vibrating when it detects your blood glucose level moving outside of the parameters you set.

Yeah, spouses are SO helpful when they wake you up to tell you that your pump is telling you to test. My solution has been to try to remember to use the touch bolus button on my Cozmo for night corrections - it bypasses the 2-hour reminder so you don’t wake up two hours later to your significant other bonking you to get you to make your pump stop keeping them awake.
