Peanut butter “bad?”

I am on a low fat vegan diet (Dr. Barnard 21 day vegan kickstart - you can find it online at pcrm.org). He recommends avoiding peanut butter because the fat interferes with insulin. I have discovered a low fat powdered PB that is a good substitute. It has 90% less fat than regular pb and it doesn’t raise my blood sugars. There are several brands available. You just add water. You can google powdered peanut butter. Hope this helps. Marilyn

Well there’s peanut butter and then there is peanut butter.
Read the label before you buy then check the carbohydrates in a tablespoon of peanut butter.
Some are natural but some have huge amounts of sugar added, because sweet is what most Americans want.

what’s wrong with salt?!

Too much salt in your diet will make your blood pressure high.

A bit high in calories which in my case also count as bad. Otherwise diabetic friendly on the short term and super yummy. My wife does not like it so I call her un-american. She grew up in sweden.

Only if you eat a high carb diet going keto you need a lot of salt. an anyways this is true only for a minority of people.

i can’t stop eating peanut butter and jelly it’s my morning routine

PB, (only peanuts NOT Skippy) Coffee black and Bourbon all in moderation are the only real way to a good life.

More seriously, many diabetics eat nuts for snacks. PB should only be peanuts blended in a Magic Bullet. And still a great snack. A high fibre, high fat carb none the less . Just count the carb by weight.

I found that I can pick up a pound of PB on the end of my tablespoon. I do not believe that is the correct way to measure???
