Ping or Minimed 722

I’m currently using a Cozmore. Making my decision between the two above. I was with Minimed before and I didn’t rly have many complaints. I favor the Ping because of the wireless remote… but I need a larger cartridge (300 preferably) and do not have the time to refill it every few days. Any comments?

Alot of folks would suggest you go with the 722 because of the larger cartridge. I guess it comes down to what features you want out of a pump versus cartridge size. When I am on steroids like I am now, my Ping doesn’t hold enough insulin for me to go 3 days on a cartridge sometimes which is a pain. So I have to add insulin to my cartridge when it is running low or else change everything out early. But I love the features of the Ping and once I am off the steroids in the next couple of months, I will be back down to a smaller daily dose and easily be able to go 3 days on a cartridge.

So you have to weigh out the pros and cons of too small of a cartridge for your needs versus the features you want in a pump. I do know you can buy a remote that looks like a car door remote (no screen on it) for the minimed to bolus remotely. I don’t know alot about how it works. I know that I like to see on a screen how many units I am about to give myself, so I will stick with the Ping.

because i switched from the shortest tubing possible to the 40 inch one i have seen a huge difference in how much insulin i am using and how often i change out the cartridge. and that is with the ping.

You must have a busy life if you don’t have 5 minutes every few days to refill an insulin pump. Are you a secret agent under deep cover or something? :stuck_out_tongue:

Minimed does have a wireless remote available for their pump.
