I put my pods on both sides of my abdomen, both sides of the back of my arm, both sides of my upper buttocks but when I put them on the upper thigh I get an alarm during bolus. Every time for the last 5 times I've put it there I can't get the full 3 days out of it. Just curious if anyone else has a location that they always get a pod alarm.
I get a lot of occlusions in that location and also site soreness on a regular basis. I like it because it is protected, but I think it's subject to a lot of motion and maybe rubbing against my pants leg because it's not nearly as reliable a site as my upper arm.
We are all different. I can't use my legs at all, occlusions and bleeding/pain. My stomach is sensitive to the adhesive on the pods and I appear to have worn out the stomach anyway with so many years on MDI and pumps. You just have to try different places until you find the ones that work best. Good luck.
I hardly have problems when I have them on my thigh. I find putting a band for life or something like this over the pod helps a lot, but where on the upper thiigh are you wearing it? outer or top or mor inner?
It's the back of my arms for me; almost 100% failure. I've never tried my thighs (not completely true - I tried once and detached the pod myself sitting down at a table.)
This is with the new pods - I had no problems on my arms with the old ones.
I'm having major problems at the moment. Don't get alarms, so not occlusions. Have been advised to stick to back of arms (Which I find very painful on removal of pod), or top of buttocks or 'love handles'. Basically anywhere that hasn't been used for MDI and has a bit of fat!!
Wow. After posting this yesterday, I woke up this morning to an occlusion with the pod on the back of my arm. I can't remember the last time I had an occlusion there.
My problems are pod errors, not occlusion alarms, too. I've never had an occlusion alarm with either the old pods or the new ones.
