Post meal BGL

Thought I’d share my average post meal BGL for comparison. I usually run up to 140 mg/dl before returnIng to normal. Sometimes I hit 200…

This seems too high.

Not sure what you're asking, but 200 is too high. Insulin may not be matched to what you're eating due to incorrect carb counting, or your insulin:carb ratio may need fine tuning. Timing of bolus is also critical. Depending on the meal, you may need to bolus earlier to hit the spike.

Thanks Gerri. I agree - 200 is too high but is 140 fairly normal an hour or so after eating a meal?

Our personal targets vary, Strings. Mine is under 140 at the two hour mark. Some people use 120. I don't measure at one hour. However if my numbers are at 140 before the next meal I will add a correction.
