Pump Accessories - Bra Straps for women in particular

I hated it when the tubing showed below my shirt/blouse hem. Now, I will curl the tubing up, like it comes before you detach the tape that holds it in the package, and I will use a medium sized band-aid to tape it to my tummy. The Band-Aid is easily removed when you want to “unhook” for a shower. I have also found that you can shorten the length of your tubing by, again, winding the tubing then using a smaller band-aid to secure the loops. Band-Aids are not difficult to remove from the tubing at all. I do like the longer tubing … more freedom but sometimes it gets in the way.

I also will take a panti-liner, fold it in half and make a pocket to put my pump in when I put it in my bra. No more moisture problems. The panti-liners are very thin so you won’t be adding additional bulk. Sheila

Its really not bad to store the pump in your bra. What really hurts is if you do any infusion set in your breast. I do alot of rough sports and Its sometime the only site left. Especially with sensor scarring on my stomach.

Ang, what kind of tape do you use? I inserted the sensor just above my breast and the tape there caused an itchy rash; not so on my stomach.

I bought a pack of little white baby socks with a ruffle top. I wear my pump in the baby sock in the left cup of my bra (fortunately I am not so endowed so that it fits well). If the top peeps out, all anyone sees is a little white ruffle. I haven’t had any problems (yet) with moisture issues and this summer in New York was brutal. Hope that this helps. Judith

HI, I just switched to the Omnipod, mainly for this reason–trying to decide where to wear my pump when i was wearing a dress or a skirt–which I don’t have to worry about anymore  But, the best thing I used was a Thigh Thing-it is a strap of material that you slid up your leg and it fits around your upper thigh, it has a pocket to slide your pump into and a garter like strap to hold it in place–worked great, just had to go into the restroom for a bolus (no biggie)–never got sweaty–a friend told me about it and I searched the internet for a thigh thing and found it–Good luck–had my minimed for 5 years, have had the omnipod for 3 weeks and really like it. When I get dressed in the morning the last thing I think about is where to attach my pump !!!
