Hey everyone! I am 16 weeks pregnant and my pump has broken and so for the next 24 hours or so I am on shots =(. I have read a lot of places that Lantus is not safe but that is what my endo has prescribed but I think it is because I was on it before and we know it works well with me. I have been known for other stuff to not work like NPH was just HORRIBLE and homolog doesn't work either. Anyone here took Lantus while pregnant? Just being really cautious.
I’ve known at least one person who took Lantus through two pregnancies, apparently no problem.
As I understand it, there’s no reason to believe Lantus is unsafe. It’s merely not FDA approved for it yet. Last I heard, levemir is the only basal insulin that actually is. Novolog also isn’t, but it’s what I used (via pump) through the last pregnancy and this one.
24 hours? I’m positive your baby will be OK.
Thanks
