i have meet with the animas pump guy today. and i think i want it. actually i know i want it. now just have to wait and see what i will have to pay....*Crosses fingers* hope its not TOO much money. lol
I love my Ping. Good luck, and keep us posted!
Awesome!! One's the rep is involved, they'll help "get 'er done". I hope you can afford it and get going on it soon!
Also, I have to ask, how did you get the boyfriend into line? Has he perceived the vast benefits, etc.?
I too love my Ping. Hopefully your insurance will cover a nice big portion! :)
Good luck! Don't know what you situation is, but if you have insurance and they cover most of it, Animas may be able to write off the rest. Pumps are covered under durable medical equipment (DME), so find out what your DME coverage is. I have BCBS and they covered most of the $8,500 retail cost of my revel, and I chipped in about $900.
Also make sure to get very clear answers from your insurance company as to what your supplies will cost each month (reservoirs and infusion sets). You will need to factor in those costs as well.
The Ping has been a very good pump for me. Good luck with Pumping, it's the way!
he is still very hesitant with it. but i was thinking of just doing it anyways. once he sees how much it helps and benefits me, it'll change his mind.
I am sure he will be fine once you have it...it's really a great management tool and there's a reason why so many people LOVE their pumps.
well..good luck! :) I too just ordered my pump, rep called me and they're sending it today, fully covered by my insurance (thank god!). So, just a question...what made you decide on the Ping - Animas over say the Medtronic Revel or Omnipod? I think my Endo wanted the Revel because it's smaller and one can make smaller adjustments - corrections and it has the built in CGM. What made you decide on the Ping, just curious?
I'm a bit nervous about it too, I'll actually go through training and live on the pump on January 27th...well, if we don't like it we can always go back to MDI's, right?
