I was diagnosed with Diabetes some 9 years ago. It has been an uphill battle from the very beginning. I was iniially considered to have had Type 2. I spent a couple of years very miserable on oral meds like Glucophage. Within 9 months of diagnosis I lost 100 pounds. I was very sick. I finally ended up in the hospital with DKA. Now many years later I am finally getting a pump. I chose the Medtronic Minimed 522. I know my life and control will be much better. I am excited to start it next week. It is not a cure but it is a step in the right direction.
