The Hartford Courant in Connecticut. The verdict is in on the Dr. Petit trial. He is/was a fantastic endo. 3 years ago 2 guys broke into his house and raped one of his daughters and his wife and set fire to the house. He was the only survivor. God bless him.
I’m not that young. LOL but in 88 I finished the Eddur. Only astrology book I remember reading was Buckland’s big red book

Graham Greene’s The Quiet American.
something wicked this way comes… by ray bradbury. i have always enjoyed his darker/ironic work.
I think I’d say the same thing. My dinner was much enjoyed!
BadMoon…I just read a review of his new one about houses and have it on my list! I read “Sunburned,” and I think everything else he’s written, but my favorite is still “Tales from a Small Island,” (or something like) that about the UK.
Elaine,
Just read a review of “Tales from a Small Island” sounds interesting, think I’ll order it. Thanks for the tip.
The Places in Between by Rory Stewart (he walks across Afghanistan in 2002-and some other countries…)
and
The Essential Neruda
Great book! I love Neil Gaiman.
“And the Band Played On:Politics, People, and the AIDS Epidemic”, The first Sookie Stackhouse Novel (True Blood), and “The Sun, My Heart” by Thich Nhat Hahn. All 3 are wonderful!!
Just finished “Never Let Me Go” and just started “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” as part of an impromptu reading circle some friends just began.
I really dig Clemens work. Ive got a great book of his short stories. Im currently trying to get my teenager to read it. Eh youth is wasted…
That sounds really interesting. How is it? How does he transition from WWII to Saigon?
It’s all in Vietnam. Beautifully written. And not just about politics but also about relationships. It’s all complicated. I highly recommend, but then, it’s a classic.
“True Pleasures; A Memoir of Women in Paris” By Lucinda Holdforth
Just the cover of that book has my mouth watering!
“When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years.” - Mark Twain
Some thoughts are timeless.
Ok now to decide what’s next, Terry Pratchett, R.A. Salvador or find a new author.
