Recources for T2 & pregnancy?

I’m T2 & am getting ready to have #2. Well I’m getting ready by getting my BS in control & than getting pregnant again. Maybe a forum for Pregnancy & Diabetes. Not just Gestational. Us T1 & T2’s would like to discuss the before, during & after of dealing w/ diabetes & pregnancy.

Hey Megzway you might try the Oh! Baby discussion forum. They are usually pretty active and have a lot of good discussions about pre- peri- and post-pregnancy stuff.

And good luck on both your BS control and your next baby!

Bradford, thank you for pointing me in the right direction. Much appreciated.

Have you looked at the Diabetic Mommy site. It is pretty good and supportive.

Is the Diabetic Mommy site here or is it a different site?

I always recommend my book, “Balancing Pregnancy With Pre-Existing Diabetes: Healthy Mom, Healthy Baby.” It covers both type 1 and type 2, from preconception to new parenthood, with chapters on loss and infertility as well. It includes insights from more than 50 women with type 2 and type 1 diabetes, as well as advice from about a dozen medical experts who focus on diabetes and pregnancy.

It’s sold online through the publisher, Demos Health, as well as online stores such as Amazon and elsewhere. I also sell autographed copies via Paypal. Email me if you’d like more details.

Good luck!

All best,

Diabetic Mommy is a different forum on Delphi Forums.

I’m T2 and planning a baby. My last A1C was 7.4 and my endo wants it to be 6.0 before I can even start trying. She mentioned the morning fasting should be in the 70s? I don’t know if that’s even possible for me. We worked so hard just to get it down to the 120s. :frowning:

I would LOVE more resources as well… I have been struggling with infertility for 2.5 years before my type 2 diabetes diagnosis (which they are assuming is the responsibility for infertility) and since my diagnosis I have been SCARED to try again lol the thought of all of the complications and going from diet/exercise controlled to being on insulin is just too overwhelming for me right now but I guess if I became more educated about what to expect I would feel more comfortable with trying to conceive again. Did you have type 2 with your first pregnancy??
