So i just switched my sensor yesterday and have noticed where my old sensor was it is really sore and sensitive and also is extremely red and im curious as to why its like that its been like this before not sore or nearly this red… is there any way to keep this from happening and why does it happen?
you could have just hit a nerve and not known it. or make sure the wipes you use aren’t on the recall list.
i too have been wearing Dexcom sensors for some time,…but noticed on this last sensor it was really red when i removed the sensor when it died…and also noticed a lot of red small dots…is this what your were talking about ??
i dont really have small red dots its a huge red patch and extremely sore
Are you sure that the whole sensor wire came out? Watch it closely in case it starts to get infected, maybe put some antibiotic cream on it. Make sure that it doesn’t feel hot to the touch, or that would mean infection and you may have to have a doc look at it.
Happens sometimes.I usually put aloe vero gel or vitamin e on it, rub in and goes away ina day or 2.
yes i saw the wire it was the same size as it always is
Is this only around the sensor or the tape? I am sensitive to the adhesive and what I did to help this was put tegaderm underneath it. This also helped me get it to stay more than the 7days without peeling off.
seems to be the tape area
Sandy,
When you use the Tegaderm, do you cut a piece out of the middle for the sensor to go into the skin, but not the Tegaderm?
I agree the redness is brutal and it itches. I will try the tegaderm but after 2 days i want to rip the thing off my arm!!
Skin-Prep. Use the “search” tool at the top-right corner of any TuD web page.
