Relief

I just wanted to say that my A1C at the doc's today was 6.9--I have been stressed of late and also sloppy about my regimen. The old diabetes fatigue setting in with a bang.
And I do think it is part of an ongoing, lengthy reaction to the heart attack of a few years ago. I had worked so very hard to eat well and exercise in all kinds of ways--allowing that component to evolve organically as I aged and old dance injuries chimed in! And yet.....
Even with all that--my reward was a blankety blank heart attack. Sigh. So I am tremendously relieved. I was fearing much worse and it was not unusual for me to have A1Cs in the 5s and 6s not that long ago (which just adds to feelings of being oh so very Old!).
I have a review with my pain management team in awhile. We'll see how that goes. I deal with chronic pain from fibromyalgia for several decades, as well as good old arthritis from 4 knee surgeries and a knee replacement--oh and there's that "dumb left foot" from the aforementioned spider bite and the fractured femur and scapula from those 4 falls I took before they figured out my Vitamin D levels were at a life-threatening low level.
Good grief--Dearhearts, now I am just venting. Sometimes I just get plain old Tired of it all! Sigh.....
And we haven't even gotten to the venous insufficiency that requires my beloved to massage, moisten and carefully wrap my lower legs every second or third day......
May I "sigh" once more please...Okay. There. To bed now. in the wee hours. But having vented, I will sleep better. Also--Sir Cat is herding me and when he decides it is past time for bed, one Obeys!.....
Love you all. For these couple of decades, this place has embraced me through ups and downs and silliness and this has made such a difference in my forever life as a diabetic....Blessings of the universe to all...LOL--signing off now before I get so maudlin that I embarrass us all---LOL!

@Judith_in_Portland I reformatted your post for easier reading. I hope you don’t mind.

For all you’ve been through, my admiration and prayers are for you. Thankfully you have good support from your loving massage therapist, a bossy cat to get you to do what’s good for you and a team of medical professionals.

Oh, Judith, we reach an age where we can certainly live the rest of our lives at 7 and not experience any ill effects. I’m there. How are you feeling? OK? That’s what really matters. Say ‘hi’ to Sir Cat, for me. Give him a nice pat.
