Resolutions

It’s a new year! 2015! Hooray!

Did January 1 sneak up on anyone else? My hubby and I were watching a movie and all of a sudden…2015! As a result of my not looking at a calendar, I’m starting a little late on the resolution front. Last year, one of my resolutions was to get my A1c below 7, which I honestly thought was impossible at the time. Really. I’ve never been below 7 since I’ve been diabetic so when I achieved this goal in July I rejoiced! And then I wondered what I’d do with the rest of my year. Not to say it isn’t hard work to keep that number under 7 (it surely is), but I had finally crossed a huge resolution off my list that I’ve had for the last 10 years. What now?

For 2014, I’d like to treat these resolutions differently. Instead of having a goal for all of 2015, I want to make resolutions every quarter. So until March my goals are:

-Be able to run a mile

-Keep my A1c at or under 6.5 (right now I’m 6.6…I get blood drawn in 2 weeks and hopefully I’ll be at goal)

-Beat my hubby at our exercise competition (again…teehee)

That’s it! I think I can do that until March 31, don’t you?
