Ringing in both ears and seeing flash light at corner of eyes

Does tinnitus and seeing flash of light at the corner of my eyes normal? I’ve been diabetic for 11 years and recently need to inject insulin once a day to bring down my sugar level.

Seeing a flash of light in eyes should be checked out. Do you have an ophthalmologist you can contact ?

In the last few years I’ve experienced something I’ve determined is a “visual migraine.” A visual migraine does not include migraine headache pain. I came to this conclusion after talking with a few of my siblings who have experienced the same symptoms. Not sure if this explains your symptoms but consulting an opthamologist is a good idea.

I did check and both eyes seems fine but the ringing is most bothering especially at morning and night.

The ringing in the ears could be tininnitis and you need to get this checked out Probably nothing to do with diabetes.

Before diagnosis with T1, I had tinnitus. It went away after my BG was under control and now only returns occasionally when my BG is high, so I’ve concluded it likely is related to my BG levels. Have you seen any correlation between these symptoms and your BG?

I second Terry’s suggestion. There most definitely is such a thing as a visual migraine. I had one some years ago and that’s exactly what the optho diagnosed. I don’t remember any ringing, but the flashing lights match my symptoms precisely. Worth checking into.

@GAM hi , I too have developed the same symptoms i.e occasional eye flashes in the left eye (3-4 times a day) & tinnitus(permanent) that doesn’t go away since March 21.

I was considering the flashes as normal and have checked only tinnitus with ENT clinic where no significant development was found with X-ray & visual examination. So doc recommended therapeutic vitamin b complex & vitamin D3 supplements both for nerve and bone health as my blood report showed insufficiency of vitamin D and border line low range of vit B complex(mostly B6,B12).

As I started taking supplements my tinnitus got worse and now I am contemplating to get those vit b com & D thru shots(injection).

Now I am worried about the occasional flashes can you share your findings of the corner flashes if you have visited the eye specialist ? I will visit soon. Thank you & get well soon everyone

Eye flashes can mean retinopathy. Glad that you are getting it checked out.

Wait, DO YOU LIVE IN A DISCOTEQUE or a dance club?

Because that could explain both of your symptoms.

I guess retinopathy and tinnitus could also be it, but check your surroundings first
