Rocky Mountains (low valleys and HIGH peaks)

Well, I wasn’t going to post this, but then I thought, what the hey – everyone will tell me it’s not so bad! Highest peak is 200, and second highest was 177. The flat parts of the line prove that my basal is OK – it’s just food that does me in. And since I do come down to where I started, it means that I need to have the self-discipline to WAIT a bit after I bolus before I eat. Self-discipline in my old age – what a concept!!

Way to go Natalie!@

I did the background just for you, Danny! OK trend, but what I REALLY want is something like AR and onesaint have been showing. Flat and hovering around 70. Not a perfectionist, am I?

Im telling you “it’s not so bad! :-)” but add in another smiley for me. =^)

can you try to bolus before the meal as opposed to bolus then waiting. Maybe memory or a schedule can trump will power in this case?

Heck youll get there and beat me. I tend to sit at 90-100. i was just thinking today, how the heck do I get down to 80 all day long?

Not sure what you mean by “bolus before the meal as opposed to bolus then waiting.” My usual tendency is to bolus, and then start eating as fast as my little jaws can chomp. (Chimp chomp?) So maybe I should bolus, and then wait 5 or 10 minutes in order to let the insulin get a head start?

"And since I do come down to where I started, it means that I need to have the self-discipline to WAIT a bit after I bolus before I eat. "

So, lack of self control once you start eating means maybe you can try to plan a bit, maybe while cooking, bolus. That way you dont have to wait staring at your food. Either that or eat slower! =^)

That’s what I do, Natalie. For example, if I’m making eggs & toast, I grab everything out of the fridge and put the pan on the stove to heat up. Then I bolus. Then I cook and enjoy! That way the insulin gets 10 - 20 minutes (depending on the meal) to kick in and I don’t have to watch my eggs get cold in order to have a good bg.

And sometimes i forget

Anyway - I think you may be breaking the posting rule (#2? #9? #14.56? I can’t keep them all straight)! I am not sure this qualifies as a rocky mtn  And I’m lovin’ the background - especially the ghost! I think he’s shocked you posted in this discussion, too!

Try the ricolla honey cherry drops. They work pretty well and they are SF. Check it out.

On the trend front, well cut ya some slack for being sick, but will take some of those famous Danny washboard trends when your better, in return! =^) Keep on the mend!

It’s kind of like adding insult to injury when the sugars get all wacky when we’re ill, huh? Hang in there, Danny! Hope you are feeling better soon

I just took my last antibiotic so hopefully my BS starts going back to normal. The blip at the beginning of this was actually a sensor problem – the sensor had me about 100 and when I checked with my meter, I was over 200 (or at least I thought I was). I put the number in the Dex then took insulin & crashed. Yesterday morning, I had a sensor error 1 for the first time – Dexcom said it was a calibration error & would come back. Since last night, my Dex & meter have been keeping up with each other.

Well, it sure looks a lot better than the line you posted that went up above 300! I just hope all the bugs are dead, dead, DEAD!!

Yeah, it does look alot better than the first day. The 2nd antibiotic was not quite as bad as the first one. My nephew, my sister & my mother were all sick again. When my brother emailed that his plane landed, I told him everyone here was getting sick again - they were sick when he got here 2 weeks ago. He said he was kind of sick on the plane but thought maybe it was the airline food.

Im really glad to hear that craziness is over. I hope it cleared up what it was supposed to. Your 24 hours looks perfect, I dont think it belongs in here at all! Glad to see your back in action Kelly.

I think it looks pretty good all things considered. I’m glad you are getting back to normal

Thanks Kate! I am very glad things are getting back to normal - it has been a crazy ride!

Thanks Onesaint! I do think it knocked everything out. Most of the line was good but I had that big drip at the beginning.

Never you mind. =^) The good thing is your back in business. Glad to see you back.

The good news, you kept it within the lines

Sorry to hear you are unwell - I hope that it clears up quickly and you can get back to your stellar self!

p.s. - I like onesaint well enough, but I would seriously miss you if you (other)flatlined. please don’t.

Glad to see your staying between the lines! =^) Also, to hear that your doing better. Sounds like an awful Flu. Get well soon, my friend!

And a P.s. from me as well. Although Im honored, I’d would have to make that 4 hour drive to LV with Med464’s defibrillator before Id let you step down from the flatliners!
