I use the Sof-Sensor with my CGM from Medtronic. I usually put them around my hips or upper thighs. No matter where I put them though, the second I put it in, the adhesive around the end of the sensor usually peels up right away. I use IV3000 to keep everything on but even then, that starts to peel up around day 3 or 4 if I am lucky. And it's hard to pull the IV tape off without ripping the whole thing out. Does anyone else have this problem? If so, is there anything I can do to keep the sensor on longer?
Get this stuff called Opsite Flexfix, my google seems to be fritzing out or I'd post a link but it's great stuff. A roll is c. $20 and will last 9-12 months and holds through all kinds of heat, sweat, etc. I've had some runs in the summer, like 14+ miles when it's 80+ degrees out and I'll come home and use a lancet to drain the sweat out of the CGM "bubble" in the opsite but it still holds and the CGM still reads. I agree the IV3000 is pretty worthless.

but I've found it cheaper elsewhere.
AB-SO-LUTELY! Opsite FlexiFix is the greatest thing I have found for keeping my Medtronic CGM in place. It is fantastic and only seems to stick better the longer it's on. There are 2 downsides to it: 1.) It gunks up the transmitter a bit. To counter that, I have recently started placing a Tegaderm HP 2 1/8" X 2 1/2" over the sensor and transmitter and then cover that with a square of Opsite FlexiFix. 2.) If you are a male or have body hair on the areas where you wear the sensor, it can be a bit painful to remove. However, if you can deal with inserting the sensor using the harpoon, you can likely deal with it.
Harpoon… Hahaha. I’m a female so I don’t have to deal with that of you didn’t have the tape over the sensor or the transmitter, would it stay on? The adhesive on the sensor hardly sticks even right when I put it on. So that’s why I need the IV 3000. But it does fall off so when I get through this box I’ll try what you suggested. I hate having to pull a sensor off after two days instead of four because the adhesive!!! The readings were fine but the dumb thing just doesn’t stick down and the sensor moved around under the IV3000.
That IV3000 product I have found to be very ineffective. I can't get it to last through one shower. Now you could use it as I am using the Tegaderm and use it as your first layer of covering then cover it more fully with the Opsite Flexifix.
I have also heard of some people putting a dab of KY or Vaseline on the transmitter before securing the Opsite to help keep it from sticking to the transmitter so heavily. You can also use something like Uni-Solve wipes to clean off the transmitter. I've found Uni-Solve cuts through the adhesive quickly.
Hypafix is the best I’ve found to cover the sensor. It last as long as the battery in the Minimed CGM. It is similar to te adhesive on the infusion sets. You can get it in 4"x10 yard rolls online. It stays solid in all kinds of environments. It’s packaged by Smith&Nephew…
