I try to move my pump infusion site around because it can get irritated and I know that overuse of the same sites can cause poor absorption, but I don’t move my dexcom site much. The sites don’t seem to get irritated by the sensor filament itself, sometimes a little by the adhesive but that seems to be just the surface of my skin and it’s minor.
Should I be more vigilant about rotating CGM sites? I don’t put new sensors in exactly the same spot but I use a fairly limited area – the middle of my abdomen above the belly button. Someone on tudiabetes suggested that area and it works great. As a side sleeper, I get no compression lows and my pump and phone receive the signal from either pants pocket.
I swap left to right on back part of upper arms (over Triceps).
I know that Dexcom says abdomen but this works very well for me.
I also use my upper arms. I hit nearly the same place every other week. It has never been an issue.
When I wear them on my abdomen, they tend to move or pull out when sitting up or stretching.
I hear the dexcom g7 is nearly completed. They will recommend behind the arms as well as abdomen.
Finally,
I used my abdomen for my Dexcom sensors for a couple of years. Then I heard that a lot of people used the upper arm. I much prefer the arm and I rotate from right to left every 10 days. I have not had any problems. I think the correlation is much better. Also I use a Dexcom overpatch to keep it in place and keep the adhesive in good position longer.
I also use back of arms, but be careful going through doorways, as I have dislodged a couple. I also use inner thighs.
Abdomen I use only for pump sites, otherwise that is also good place for dexcom too.
True that lol You dont realize how close you walk to the frame of a door until you have something stuck to your arm. Alos, getting into cars and hitting the top of the door.
I do. I recently started wearing my Dexcom on my upper arm, and I switch arms when it’s time for a new sensor. I always have with both my Dex and pump even when I wore the Dex on my tummy.
I have always used upper front right arms. I could not do the back side. My dex insert lasts 20 days so the other arm should be healed but I try to move it around, a bit up/down and a bit right/left. So far so good since 2001. I am a side sleeper and my outer arm is always good for sleeping.
