We have also gone back to using Unisolve - it works well. There’s a similar product called Remove - equally effective. Caleb had started to get rough, dry and even red marks on his skin from my “just rip it off” approach. Since going back to Unisolve and rubbing him down with Eucerin, it’s improved greatly. But any post bath/shower Pods I will still just take off because they come off so easily. His Pod changes just don’t always coincide with his showers.
I started the pod February of this year, so I haven’t been on it very long myself. But I’ll try and answer any questions I can.
And I still appreciate big hair music, haha.
I never have any problem with my pants rubbing when I wear it on my thigh (which is where it’s currently located). I think as long as your clothes aren’t skin tight, it shouldn’t be a problem. Also, I never bump it there. The place I bump it most is my arms (never realized how close I cut doorways until I put a pod there, haha).
I also notice that when I wear it on my arms, it does affect which side I sleep on. When I wear it anywhere else, I can sleep on that same side and not be bothered.
I rotate between arms and shoulder blades
I had a problem with pain at the sites, anyone would touch the pod and it would hurt, or I would feel pain during the bolus. I stopped pinching up on insertion, and just gently “hold” the pod still. I no longer have the problem with painful sites like I did before. Uni-solve and nail polish remover work for removal, but my favorite way is to soak with baby oil before I jump in the shower, and change after shower. Slides right off = ). Within a month your son will have it all figured out and will feel like an expert!
When I went through training I was told to use sites at least one inch away from previous site, and not to reuse any for 1 month. I have 3 spots on each arm that I can use, but I found if I try to use those 3 sites in a row, my skin doesn’t like being under adhesive for so long.
