Has anyone tried “skin Tac”?
I use Skin Tac to adhere the pod to my bod…not the pod to itself. It works very well until the humidity kicks up here in S FL and then I sometimes have to use Nexcare tape.
hi doug! you should check out this discussion about pod adhesives… there are lots of different things that people use. but i do think you have to figure out what works for you.
i am trying to figure this out for myself right now. i just bought the skin-prep based on some comments but it is not working for me at all. if you want, send me a private message with your address and i’ll mail you a couple wipes of that to try!
We love SkinTac, depending on where the pod is. It adheres so well that if you don’t remember to add SkinTac between not only the skin and Pod adheive but also the Pod adhesive to the pod itself. Otherwise, we’ve found the adhesive holds on super tight, but the Pod itself comes dislodged.
You also will want to get Unisolve wipes to make getting it off MUCH easier…it’s a hassle otherwise
i’ve use nail polish remover to get rid of the glue. a cheap solution. it doesnt seem to be harmful to the skin, you use it on your nails. get the good stuff, dont be cheap!
I’ve used Skin Tac for both the pods and my Inset infusion sets from my previous pump. Very sticky so the adhesive patch stays on great. Never needed glue to keep the pod on the adhesive patch yet. I asked my Omnipod Trainer if I could use IV 3000 adhesive patch over the whole pod, like I do with my minimed CGMs transmitter and sensor. She said I shouldn’t have to do that, but you could try it. It shouldn’t interfere with the RF signal because it doesn’t for the CGMs. You can get the IV 3000 in different sizes and it stays put for a week. But if you use Skin Tac or IV3000, get TACAway or Unisolve adhesive remover. It makes getting the pod off so much easier.
