Sleep!

We are having the hardest time with sleep. Isabelle just won’t sleep through the night anymore. She comes into my room and gets me out of bed and wants me to sleep with her. I think that I might have gotten 5 complete nights of sleep in the last 5 months.

I’m just about at my wits end. It isn’t the getting up in the middle of the night, I can do that. Usually I can take care of whatever needs to be taken care of and then go right back to sleep. Lately Isabelle wants to stay up or she just wakes up so many times during the night that I end up getting almost no sleep.

I guess what I’m wondering is has anyone else had a problem with their toddlers/preschoolers sleeping since diagnosis? It seems that whenever she is anywhere over 200 she can’t really sleep well, but I don’t want her to be too low so I end up playing the should I dose her or not game all night. Any advice would be great.

Does anyone else have sleep issues on top of diabetes? My teen has had troubles with not sleeping well for the last year or so. He is tired all day long. Until today I had been attributing this to puberty and growth spurts. A little google'ing this morning led to some articles that seem to suggest there may be a link.

Thoughts? Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Oddly enough, my non-D 2 year old quit sleeping through the night right around the time of big sister Ella’s dx. My solution? They both sleep in bed with me. A momma’s gotta do what a momma’s gotta do to get some sleep!

I have 3 kids and 2 are T1. We keep a couple of blankets and a pillow next to our bed so that when they can't sleep or are having wacky BGs they are in the room with us so we can check easily and so they don't feel alone. It works really well. Usually they go on back to sleep knowing we are right beside them. And I get to stay in my own bed:)
