Software won't recognize receiver?

I am a new Dexcom wearer and am having difficulty with the software. The software doesn’t recognize my receiver. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software…called tech support and after 1.5 hours they told me they had no idea what was going on. I am bummed for obvious reasons and thought I would reach out to the real experts  for some help. Thank you!

I am no techie, but a couple of ideas:

  • Are you in Windows? If you are on a Mac do some searches to find if/how you can run DM3.
  • What release of DM are you running? I am running 11.0.0.9 (which I do not think is the most current release)
  • Can you access any other device from the USB port you are using for DM3?

Yes, I’m in Windows…during my most recent reinstall I downloaded it from Dexcom’s website so It should be the most release. I will however check tomorrow. Lastly, yes…I use this USB for other devices and don’t have any issues. I did try all 3 ports on my computer “just in case” but no luck. Thanks for the reply.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling? Have you checked that you have the correct serial # in the software?

My first computer I had my Dex installed on was a work computer. There were two separate login accounts. One was a local computer based login and the other (which I usually used) was a network based login. When I installed Dex it installed the software on both accounts but the network login could not communicate with the receiver properly. It somehow managed to mark all the data as read (or just scramble it) so it couldn’t be downloaded anywhere else but would not actually translate it into the program. After about two weeks on the phone with them we realized the problem was that you need to use the local login for some unknown reason. It was a pain but it did work as long as I logged myself out of the work account and onto the other one. I don’t know if this might be what you’re experiencing but I thought I’d share my experience.
