Stress and blood sugars

carbs and exercise are the big issues that we have mathematical formulas to deal with. on my pump i can count the carbs up, put that number in and viola! there is my dose, correction added if needed. exercise is not a precise, but i know that if i go for a good brisk walk and my numbers are in a good place, i should cut my basal in half for the event and a half an hour after. i wish that there was a formula for stress. “well today looks like one of those double basal days…” do you have any method for dealing with stress in you blood sugar calculations?

I wish I had a magic answer to that one! I think stress and blood sugars are one of the most difficult things to work with. For me I just try to take more blood tests if possible, adjust insulin as needed then find a way to de-stress if possible even for short periods of time. But when you’re really stressed sometimes even taking regular blood tests can get totally overlooked! So, I’ll be interested to see what others say in regards to your question.
