Stress

I think my problems with my blood sugar is from stress. My daughter died from cancer 2 year ago. My step son also had cancer ( thank the Lord he is ok now ) Also I run 3 face book web sites for Lost and found pets from flood hurricanes etc
It can be very stressful and sad at times but I know I am trying to help by reunited owners. I wont give that up . I used to rescue but those days are gone .I'm still stressed at what I went through rescuing pets when hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana . A lot of those rescuers suffered long lasting stress. I had night mares for years after and still do with some of the horror I saw. Does anyone else Know how to handle stress related diabetics. I don't think its from my food Thanks again

Stress messes with my BG badly. When I am really stressed it will keep me about 20 mg/dl higher than I would be. Also, when I stress I sometimes stress eat which generally means higher carb foods.

Honestly, I think perhaps you should see a counselor to discuss your stress and what sounds like some PTSD. I am very sorry for the loss of your daughter. These kinds of things can cause all sorts of psych stuff and cause depression (which also affects my BG and eating habits).

I don't know if you exercise but exercise does wonders for my mental health and overall bg.

I also find that high bg tends to make me have more difficulty dealing with things which just turns into a viscious circle.

We did go to a councilor after my daughter died The hardest was seing her die. We had seen my hubbys mom and my mom pass away but seing a young person like your own daughter is so traumatizing . I think im handing my daughter death now I know she is in a better place and in no more pain,
As for Katrina we did go to Louisiana the next year for Madi Gra..Its amazing how those folks after one year have survived horror .They are wonderful folks and thanked us with all their hearts for helping .I wonder if anyone here is from that part of USA We would love to go back again as we didnt see a lot of New Orleans as we couldn't get to flooded areas the year after My heart is still with those people and their pets . Thats why I run the disaster face book pages.
You maybe right though I was Diagnosed with Addison that is low adrenaline function although they thought that maybe was from my asthma and cortisone use

I try to go to water aerobics 2 times a week but walking is a problem because of my asthma .Wow getting older is fun Lol cant do one thing because of another .

I am seeing a Dietician tomorrow And my hubby is great baking me low fat desserts ,muffins etc , cooking low fat meals. The Dr has told me to just check my own level now and dont worry about the chart ..Just find what foods make my level high and avoid them . I sure learned at lot from the wonderful folks here. I panicked at first but am eating a little better now

I'm glad yuo have seen a counselor. Low fat isn't necessarily the best thing. I usually eat high fat and lower carb. Works better for my BG. Nothing makes my weight budge but I actually will not gain on lower carb.

I go to water aerobics 2 times a week and walk my dogs every day but with asthma I cant walk far ..But I'm definitely not over weight .I weigh 130 and am 5 7 .You can see by my picture taken last year Lady in red lol.

I'm going to see dietician tomorrow so will keep everyone updated Im so glad I found this site Thank you all I know i am a very Sensitive person and so many bad things in this world

I have had a bad cold and fever for the last few days My count went up even when i hardly ate Does the count go up when you are sick

I didnt see the dietician yesterday too sick

Any stress on your body can up your BG. Mine almost always goes up when I'm sick. I try to watch what I eat and drink but for the most part if you aren't on insulin there is little you can do.

I hope you get to feeling better soon
