This past Wednesday Elgin Secondary School in White Rock held their first Accu-Chek Cyclebetes Spin-a-thon to raise money for JDRF, and what an amazing job they did!
Our Accu-Chek Cyclebetes team arrived at the school at 6:00am to help get them set-up, only to find out that these students were one step ahead of us - they had done most of the setting up before we even arrived. They even had coffee and breakfast coming at 8:00am to supply fuel for the event.

By 8:00am (the start of the event) there were 44 teams, most of them dressed in costumes and ready to spin and support their team mates.
There was music pumping, dance-offs, subways sandwiches for lunch, a BBQ, and so much energy from all that attended - it was amazing.
And when the dust settled, they had exceeded their goal of $30,000 for JDRF by almost $8,000!
Hats off to you all and a special mention to Sue Janzen, the Champion Teacher, who helped lead the team and also put in her own time spinning (even with her leg cast on - due an injury the day before)
