Below is a link to an online survey focused on Future Insulin Delivery Technologies. The survey covers many interesting topics such as artificial pancreas systems, mobile connectivity, consumer unmet needs, and current attitudes and behaviors towards diabetes management. The survey has different paths for Type 1 and Type 2, insulin pumpers and those using multiple daily injections – therefore, it is very focused and will hopefully provide the industry useful information for design and development of future products.
Please take some time to take this survey – it should take about 15-20 minutes to complete (a little more if you choose the optional sections). Feedback provided in surveys like these allow for your voice to be heard.
I agree. There are problems with the survey. Certain questions gave you the option to pick one or more answers, but you were required to pick at least one. If none of the answers were true, you have no choice but to select an answer you don’t agree with.
The company (surveymonkey) that is in the business of doing the survey should go through the questions and correct this type of issue before putting it out.
What if you were taking a survey and it asked:
Which of these answers best summarizes your goals for the coming year?
(you must select at least one answer):
quit drinking and driving
quit abusing your spouse
quit the heavy use of illegal drugs
quit gambling away your retirement fund
A “none of the above” answer might be nice (or an “all of the above”, depending on how you are living )
It’s not surveymonkey, it’s whoever designed this particular survey using that platform. Surveymonkey gives you the option of whether to make questions mandatory or not or whatever to include none of the above type options. (I’ve used it for other types of surveys.) Sounds like someone wasn’t super familiar with using it.
I did the survey but agree that many of the questions were poorly designed. Also, there were questions where I put aditional information in edit boxes not related to the question simply because there was nowhere else to put it. And there was one question that was impossible to answer (asking about ease of use of a device and the like—how can one possibly rate ease of use of a device without actually using it?!).
I took the survey yesterday and agree with some comments already posted. I remember one question where I wanted to select two answers but system wouldn’t allow that. The big thing I didn’t like was the length of it. It took me a lot more than 15 minutes to complete. And there was no progress bar letting me know how far along I was.
I did mine over two days. But I did have a progress bar at the top showing the percent done. I’d say it took me an hour or more; definitely more than 15-20 minutes!
Mostly I was able to answer the questions reasonably comfortably–not perfect by a long shot but better than some I’ve seen come through TUD. The question that gave me the worst agita left me no way of indicating that I prefer to use a pump but still feel there are drawbacks. Instead, it was either I preferred something else or I was over-the-moon in love with it, neither of which is accurate:
It’s the best thing to happen to me with respect to diabetes management
