Hi there!
It’s been a while since I have been on as life got pretty crazy for me for a good while! Just when you think the coast is clear a new problem crops up.
I just today received a call from my supplier (currently Edgepark pharmacy) that Tandem notified them of a major change last minute; that being that they are dropping most of their infusion sets from pharmacy coverage and will instead only be supplying 2 different kits that are a combo of cartridges and infusion sets in one package/prescription, with only the shortest/shorter canula lengths available. Those being the Autosoft XC90 6mm and the Autosoft XC30 13mm. All others will have to be ordered through traditional DME.
This is incredibly disappointing as it complicates getting my supplies as they will have to come from 2 different places, but not only that it presents a major monthly cost increase for me as all my diabetes supplies are covered at 100% when using the pharmacy benefit. This is a crazy move to make to me given how many people need the 9mm canula length!
Has anyone else been told this? I can’t imagine why Tandem would make this change, it seems like this would be an insurance company thing before Tandem changing it, but my insurance coverage hasn’t changed. I am due for a pump replacement and this really makes me question if I want to go with tandem again.
