Dani, I have had diabetes for 6 years once you learn all you need to and can do your shots (or insert a pump infusion set ) you will be able to fly through it !once u learn how to count carbs you’ll be able to look at a plate and go 40carbs 10 carbs etc etc; don’t worry once your out of “the honeymoon period” you’ll be fine!!!
Lauren, when doing a test with a high or lowBG you won’t b able to focus very well,I’ve got bad marks in a lot of tests because of my bloods. But when it comes to major tests or important exams you will either get extra time or will be able to be in a separate room so that if u have a hypo once its treated you can continue with your exam. But try getting a medic alert band or bracelet or a necklace to inform your teachers your diabetic.

Hey I'm 18 and I've been diabetic for nearly 13 years. I'm new to this site and I never really talked to anyone my age who also has diabetes! I am Italian and I study in the UK, I have had a pretty rough time in the past years with managing my diabetes (especially high BG), so if you have similar difficulties, don't hesitate to contact me :)
Hi everyone! I am new to this group and would love to find some people to talk to:) I'm 18 years old and was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes a little over six years ago. I currently live in Florida and will be starting my second year of college this fall. I hope to make some friends on this site and just meet some other people who know what it's like to deal with diabetes.
