Test All The Times! Eat All The Foods! ... Or not

So, Today is my first day of testing every time I eat and I was super stoked and ready to be awesome!! but then I didn't really eat anything besides my meals. I'm strangely disappointed. But Whatevs.
I spent my day at my grandparent's house doing odd jobs for them. I painted the trim on a door, polished every cabinet in their house, and shined the floor. It's always loads of fun to hang out with my grandparents because my grandfather is going blind (he already has one prosthetic eye) so he just sits around listening to Jazz, Swing, and Big Band music and telling me random facts from his life. And then my grandmother is adorably senile and is constantly trying to fatten me up. It's like a party!
As Christmas draws nearer, I'm more excited than ever to be doing better with my diabetes because it's like a present to myself. But it's getting to be a little bit harder because my mom's partner is making crazy good cookies in large amounts. My whole house smells like cookies and I'm trying so hard not to eat them because I'm the type of person that can't eat just one.
On a positive note, all three of my tests have been below 200 :D This is a first for me in my baby steps journey to keep everything down!
Much love and thanks for the support!!!

Oh my, Jenn. I'd love to meet your grandparents! How about throwing down the gauntlet to your Mom's partner: A bake off! You can find here, or I can send you, fantabulous recipes for lo-carb cookies and cakes made with almond flour and stevia or splenda. My cheese cake, my pound cake, are "to die for"---just a few carbs per serving!.....Blessings

Hi Jenn,

Thanks for posting about your day! It's wonderful that you are stoked to do better with your diabetes! Way to go!!

And it was fun tor read about your grandparents! You are wonderful to be helping them out!

Best wishes on dealing with the food challenges of the holidays!

Jenn:

Congrats on your attitude. Keep it up as long as you can. When the going gets tough, just reflect on how you feel now and rededicate yourself for your grandoarents. As for the baker in your home, pray for a stuffy head so you can't smell! (lol) Then, if you can win, join them. Have ONE cookie and take a walk in the fresh air. Better to do battle with the devil on your own familiar ground! (Old saying you probably only heard coming from your grandparents!)

Merry Christmas!

Lois

Congrats also for starting the way!!!!
