Thank you for the warm welcome
Okay since I am here and I just remembered something it is a question I hope someone would be able to answer…
I have noticed a real plus since Domino’s changed their pizza recipe, my BG’s are Awesome! I woke with a 95 this am after having it for supper lastnight. I have been running over 100 quite a bit lately.
It has done this now 3 times of the last 3 times I have had the new pizza, before it was very hard to make sure my BG would stay good. In fact I can remember for the 2 hrs after eating after I had my daughter–I had Gestational diabetes and it was 195! I may have ate a little too much when it came to # of slices and such but it is something else. It seems that Domino’s is one of the foods I can trust to keep my glucose in check. I didn’t get a chance to check it lastnight since I was babysitting and with my friend’s kids and my own I had a total of 7 kids including my infant!
Anyways has anyone else noticed this kind of trend with Domino’s pizza and their numbers?
Hmmm… I haven’t, but I usually have to stay away from pizza, as it makes me skyrocket even within 75 minutes. I’ll keep it in mind, though… the hubby’s birthday is coming up, and I’m always up for an experiment. Always, sensible with the portions, though. That’s the most important part in this D game. We can eat most anything – but the portions need to be managed.
Yes it was sensible portions lastnight. I pretty much just have one slice of the pizza since it is big enough and then one or two bread sticks. And this has been working pretty good for me. That change in the recipe of their pizza’s tho I saw a big time difference from before and now. Course there were like months we did not order any pizza after that 195 though cause it kinda freaked me out that it would do that. So when I did order the new recipe I was very very careful, I made sure to check my # 2 hrs afterwards and to make sure and note my am one too. And both of them were very decent #'s. I know I have not really been “officially” diagnosed with pre-diabetes but I have basically self-diagnosed it based off of the numbers I get when I do check myself. I of course use the main numbers that my dr. told me for after I had my daughter. Which I haved pretty much been within since I had her. Except for when I have splurged. I recently had my A1c done for the first time ever, it was 115. LIke a 6.2 or something. So when I saw that was within the normal range I was very relieved. But, I do know that there is that tendency to be pre though, so I still do my best to eat well.
That’s it Lizmari,
I know I can eat something, but then I cheat on portions and regret it later
What Liz and Kathyann said.
I had domino’s last night and my numbers were great too!! I haven’t had their pizza in yrs but friends invited me over for dinner and movie and that is what we had so I was excited to know I can enjoy a little pizza now and then
