Edgepark came through and filled my recent reorder with the new pods. They arrived today, along with the new PDM, a new separate Freestyle tester, carrying case, etc. The new pods are surprisingly small, even though I’ve seen many pictures. They are significantly thinner and flatter. The PDM, on the other hand, is exactly the same size, only black. The screen dimension might be slightly smaller, but it is basically the same color screen. When you turn it on it walks you through the process of adding your settings. I haven’t put a new pod on yet, but I imagine the process is the same. Here are a couple of pictures.
Cool! We’re you an out of warranty person, or is this just a normal refill?
Woo hoo! Congrats, Jim! How soon until you pop one of those babies on? Inquiring minds want to know.... :)
Good for you! Very jealous and be sure to keep us posted as to your impressions!
YAY!! SO happy for you! Thanks so much for posting the pics, and please keep us posted about what you think of the new ones.
Lucky you.I just got an order, from Insulet, but the regular pods came. When I asked when I would get the new ones, the answer was , not yet. I don't understand what's going on.... My 3 year annivesary will be end of May....
Dee, we got 3 boxes of old pods last week and were told the same thing, from Insulet. (In Oct, our Our 6 yr old will have been podding for 3 yrs also.) The Insulet rep told me "MAYBE" we'd receive our new pods in July, when we will be due for our next 3 month supply. VERY frustrating.
Nice pics. Thanks for taking the time to do that.
Looks like im gonna have the opposite problem...My pods are on the way from Medco, just cant get Insulet to give up a PDM.
They admitted to me that there are NOT many "new" customers, so my question is...why not start shipping PDMS to people who are overdue on my pod reorder?
I continue to call and email them everyday in hopes that something will change.
I was out of warranty by more than a year.
I guess given that there are multiple distribution channels Insulet will really want to change *channels* over to the new pods not end users. If that's correct presumably all EdgePark customers will soon get the new pods. Insulet stopped supplying me last year and swapped me over to Byram Healthcare, I got an old-pod 3-month drop a few weeks ago.

Yes, thanks for the pics.
Jim, I have Edgepark too. Did they contact you about the new pods before sending, or did you just discover the happy news when you opened your shipment?
I go through Edgepark, and they just sent me another 3 month supply of the old pods WITHOUT me even authorizing the shipment. I still have 3 months worth that I haven't even opened yet. :o( I'm feeling frustrated. I just called and they couldn't explain why it was autoshipped. They transferred me to the insulin pump department and they were closed.
Sorry, I think I was keeping the insulin pump department busy just then (after a 15 minute wait)
Just talked with a "Diabetes Device Specialist" at EdgePark. She was a sweetie, but I think she's stuck in the same runaround as we all are. She told me (and don't shoot the messenger) that only new users and out-of-warranties were getting the new stuff from them, and that she had no idea when I could expect the new stuff.
I just ordered another 3 month supply and will stick my head back in the sand.
Yeah, I know. But I have enough pods on hand to get me through the fall as it is. I'm just unhappy that they autoshipped me. They've never done that to me before.
savage810, I'm not Jim but this might help. :-)
I received a call from Edgepark 2 or 3 days after my 4-year warranty expiration date. They asked me to contact my Doctor to let her know that they were sending the paperwork to get a prescription for the new pod. Then they contacted my insurance company and... today I received my new, smaller pods and new PDM. It was surprisingly easy. The whole thing took a couple of weeks.
