They did not work for me personally. However, if they work for you - that’s great. Reducing my carbohydrate intake and eating regularly had the greatest impact on my diabetes management.
I am a retired nurse and I thought I knew about diabetes too until it hit me. My Dr. told me that she “heard if you get on it early, it could be reversed”. I didn’t have a clue, but starting learning and eating to my meter, taking note of how different foods affected me. I am low carb, moderate protein, good fats like cod liver oil, olive oil, avocados, etc. I lost 64 pounds and now weigh 132, what I did in high school. I am 60. After losing weight, I have added exercise to the regimen, and I hope my A1c will lower even more. Currently it is 5.7. I want it to be like 4.9. Learning has led me to help my two diabetic sisters lose weight and lower their A1c’s. All in the family…
