There Goes My Honeymoon

I haven’t been to the doctor yet, and I can’t think of what else it could be. I was diagnosed 6 months ago, and have had a really low basal and carb to insulin ratio (8 Levemir a day and 1:25 novolog). In the past few days, my blood sugar has suddenly jumped through the roof and won’t budge. Hasn’t gone below 200 and has jumped as high as over 400. I feel like crap, foggy, exhausted, upset stomach, gave myself a damn yeast infection, etc. but can’t think of what to do to fix it. I have been eating extra low carb and exercising, but nothing helps. I am guessing that I am going to need to really up my insulin dose. Damn, I forgot that the honeymoon stage was only temporary and I already miss it. I have just gotten to a point of acceptance, and now I feel I will have to do it again. I have an appointment with my diabetes team in 10 days.

Does anyone have any advice or stories about their experience transitioning and shifting out of the honeymoon stage?
